First of all, Gorgeous Gems is a real live business – thriving in Perth with extra special personal service, so if you are in Perth, please do contact us if you’d like to see our range “in the flesh” so to speak.

However, what you are looking at now, is a website and if you are looking here, then the intention is to buy online. By doing so, it will have many advantages for you – not the least of which is that you can save yourself the effort of battling all the crowds, especially in this “silly season” and your gorgeous gems will arrive at your door, gift wrapped free of charge and as soon as is humanly possible! You might even receive a little surprise.

We understand if you are concerned that there is only a post office box address on the website and to make matters worse, it is in a place called DOG SWAMP! Who ever thought you could find beautiful unique jewellery in a swamp! Actually the suburb is apparently so named due to it having a shape like a dog – or so I’ve been told.

As to the owner, that’s me and as my faithful website designers have suggested, I have included a photo of yours truly (albeit not professionally done), so that you can at least put a face to the name and be rest assured that Gorgeous Gems is real! I was born, bred and buttered, as I like to say in Perth and have lived my whole life here. I was previously a teacher for 20 years with the education department, then in the private school system. I also worked as a supervisor of student teachers for Edith Cowan and Murdoch universities and in the Ed section of The West Australian.

After falling in love with my cousin’s beautiful jewellery shop in New York I was inspired to study gemmology and became a gemmologist.

I am very happily married with two amazing children and an adorable 4 month old poodle.

Gorgeous Gems has been in business for six years before going online this year.
